Widnes Vikings: Macgraff Leuluai signs Super League deal

ALSO celebrating a two-year deal is Macgraff Leuluai, who joined Vikings for the 2011 Co-operative Championship season from Leigh Centurions on an initial one-year contract.

Head coach Denis Betts admits to being constantly impressed by the 21-year-old: “Macgraff has been one of our stand-out performers this year. He’s an athlete who pushes himself to the limit and tries his very best every single week.

“His performances are always full bore and he never gives less than 100%.

“As a coaching staff we can see so much potential in him. Let’s not forget, he’s only part-time at the moment and aside from his Widnes commitments, he’s also a plasterer which means that he works all day and then turns up here probably shot to bits, but he still puts in every single ounce of effort that’s left in him.”

Leuluai added: “I’m really happy to sign a Super League contract and achieve the goal that I set myself at the start of the year.

“As soon as I got on board, I realised that things were extremely well run and working under Denis Betts and the rest of the performance team has been fantastic for not just me, but the rest of the boys too.

“Taking up this full-time contract means that I’ll have a lot more time to work even harder at my game. I’m definitely looking forward to pulling on my footy boots instead of my construction boots every morning!”
