Widnes Vikings: Steve O’Connor calls on 7,000 Vikings fans to become members for Super League

VIKINGS chairman Steve O’Connor has called on 7,000 fans to sign up to the club’s new membership scheme and make Widnes a force to be reckoned with in Super League.

Fans cheered as O’Connor took to the pitch at half time during Sunday’s match against the York City Knights at the Stobart Stadium.

He urged supporters to get behind the team in their thousands and match his personal ambition of maximising the £1.65m salary cap on world class players.

More than 4,000 fans heard his plans to launch Viking Stronghold, a revolutionary membership scheme that will see fans pay the club between £13.99 and £17.99 per month, instead of buying a traditional season ticket.
