Televised match is a big draw for the fans

WITH just over a week to go to the tele- vised Co-operative National League clash with Salford City Reds, Widnes Vikings are on course for a record National League crowd at the Stobart Stadium, Halton.

More than 2,000 children will be forming part of the Vikings’ choir based in the West Stand while nearly 1,000 parents have bought tickets to witness this unique event organised by Vikings in the Community and The Valhalla Foundation.

The Co-operative, as competition sponsor, is distributing 800 tickets to various fans and organisations and with nearly 2,500 season ticket holders, the club can already look at a crowd of more than 6,000 for a match that is being televised live on Sky TV.

The evening gets under way at 6.15pm with a Year 7 curtain- raiser between Wade Deacon and Sts Peter Paul girls, with the Vikings’ choir rehearsing at 6.45pm ahead of their performance starting at 7pm.

Prior to the game, there will be performances by the Stobart Dancers while at half-time the Liverpool Stagecoach Theatre School will take centre stage before the Red Devils Parachute Display team will drop-in with a Domino’s Pizza for one fan and a £1,000 cheque for the first monthly winner of the Vikings’ Dream Ticket lottery.
