TOMORROW’S National League One clash at The Willows unusually brings together two sides with 100% records but at opposite ends of the table.
Salford City Reds currently top the division while Widnes Vikings prop up the rest but not for long as they have already wiped out a nine-point penalty by winning their first three games.
Both clubs have applied for Super League licences and now get the chance to test each other on the field.
Shaun McRae’s Salford have been further bolstered by Robbie Paul’s successful return from injury.
But Widnes’ former Salford coach Steve McCormack returns to the City Reds’ ground looking for a famous victory.
McCormack said: “I can’t wait for this one. When the season starts you look forward to big games like this.
“Going to The Willows on a Friday night, with a vocal crowd behind them, will be a really big test for us.
“But if we can get a few more bodies back then we’ll go there hoping to do well.”
