Ryan joins the Viking hordes

WEST Bank Bears’ prop Ryan Stokes has joined the Widnes Vikings renaissance – as one of five more young prospects to sign professional forms at Stobart Stadium Halton.

This brings the number of teenage captures to 10 in four days.

Also drafted in are Pilkington’s hooker Mattie Scott and centre Gary Anderton plus second-row Mattie Schleiner and Alex Gerrard, both recruited from Hindley.

Vikings’ player performance manager John Foran said: “All five players have been watched on numerous occasions and the club feels that it has secured the services of some highly talented players.”

Stokes, Anderton, Gerrard and Scott are all products of Vikings’ Scholarship programme.
