VIKINGS have announced an open day for fans on Saturday, January 26 – the eve of the friendly against Super League’s Wigan Warriors.
The event has been set up by club chairman Steve O’Connor and will give supporters chance to see the new-look squad training at Stobart Stadium Halton.
An official photocall will follow involving all players in Vikings’ new-look kit.
Fans can obtain autographs and pose with their favourite stars for official photos which can later be purchased and downloaded from Vikings’ website.
The open day will be another opportunity for South Stand season-ticket holders to be allocated dedicated seats for next season.
Steve O’Connor said: “We have had numerous requests from South Stand season-ticket holders wishing to have allocated seating at home games.
“Unfortunately, we do not have seating records available from the previous administration and we are doing our very best to try to accommodate these requests.
“We have been encouraging fans to e-mail or write in with their seat-allocation requests.
“However, this is being conducted on a strictly first-come, first-served basis so it does make sense to sort your seat allocation as soon as possible via an e-mail to seating@widnesvikings.co.uk or by writing direct to the club.”
North Stand entry to the open day will be available to non season-ticket holders.
“I’m hoping that this occasion will attract a big turnout,” added the chairman.
Meanwhile, Vikings are introducing a new electronic ticket and access control system to Stobart Stadium Halton from the first competitive home fixture of 2008 – against Leigh Centurions in the Northern Rail Cup on Sunday, February 10.
The system will not be in operation for the home friendly against Wigan on Sunday, January 27.
Tickets for this game – priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and concessions – can be purchased from tomorrow (Friday, January 11) through:
www.widnesvikings.co.uk
Vikings’ ticket helpline, call 0151 495 4822, from Monday-Friday 10am-2pm.
Vikings’ matchday ticket office within Stadium Fitness in the West Stand for cash and credit-card sales.
Details of the rest of the 2008 ticket arrangements appear at www.widnesvikings.co.uk and are advertised on page 53 of today’s Weekly News.
The club hopes to distribute all season tickets by Monday, February 4 – in time for the Northern Rail fixture against Leigh Centurions.
However, if any junior members do not receive their season tickets in time for the match at Blackpool on February 3, the club will introduce special arrangements to guarantee their admission to this match.
