Saxton, Powell and Cockayne both crossed for their second tries of the match, as the Featherstone attack ran riot.
Before Shane Grady and Danny Hulme scored consolation tries for Widnes.
But Featherstone capped off an impressive performance when Powell barged his way over to complete his hat-trick moments before the final hooter.
The nature of the defeat came as a crushing blow to the Vikings hopes of securing a top three finish, but with the Rovers visiting the Stobart Stadium Halton for the final game of the regular league season a week on Sunday, Denis Betts will be looking for a much improved performance.
