WIDNES legends of years gone by will go head-to-head with current Vikings head coach Denis Betts and a host of rugby league icons as part of Shaun Briscoe’s testimonial. The legends game, which takes place at the Stobart Stadium Halton on Sunday, May 19, will see Widnes’s 1989 world champions David Hulme and Darren Wright roll back the years alongside 1993 cup finalists including Bobbie Goulding, Stuart Spruce and Esene Faimalo for a Suremove Widnes XIII. They will play a Shaun Briscoe XIII featuring the Vikings full-back himself, Betts, Widnes assistant coach Mick Cassidy and legends of the modern era including Paul Sculthorpe, Chris Joynt, Steve Prescott and Paul Newlove.
