Runcorn Linnets FC: Linnets ready for new Halton Sports ground meeting at Waterloo Hotel

RUNCORN Linnets FC are holding a meeting in the town tonight for fans to find out more about their plans to build a new ground at Halton Sports, Murdishaw.

It will be held at The Waterloo Hotel, High Street, Runcorn at 7.30pm.

There will be an opportunity for fans to ask questions of the club’s ground group and everybody is welcome.

Halton Borough Council executive board has backed the club's plans for the new facility.

The ground will include a new high-quality floodlit pitch, seating and standing areas for spectators, changing, hospitality and training facilities.

The scheme will be co-funded by the council, the Football Foundation and Linnets themselves.

A club spokesman said: “We are, of course, very pleased that approval has been given, and grateful to the council for backing the project.

“We now look forward to moving the project along quickly and aim to have the site ready for the 2010-2011 season.”
