West Bank 22-22 Rochdale Mayfield

West Bank U11s 22 Rochdale Mayfield 22

THE Bears made a great start to this match.

Both attack and defence play was good and it was the Bears that scored first through Dylan Miller. However, from the restart, Rochdale played well and it was their very quick winger that scored.

There was then some lovely play from the Bears, George Ward made some good yards with twists and turns leaving the way open for Dylan Miller to score again.

Again there was a great response from Rochdale and missed tackles from the Bears meant Rochdale scored.

The Bears did not let their heads drop though and their attacking play was excellent and Miller scored again.

At this point West Bank’s defence started to struggle and despite some crunching tackles from Connor Jackson, Rochdale scored again.

The second half started the same way as first the Bears pushed Rochdale into touch and from the scrum scored through Declan Jackson.

Once again, it was some poor defence that allowed Rochdale to score.

Once West Bank got the ball they came alive and were very unlucky not to score - Rochdale held them up on the line.

Mayfield continued to test the Bears defence and eventually it cracked and Rochdale scored.

West Bank’s defensive play couldn’t quite match their excellent attacking play.

Man of the match was Martin Jackson for showing lots of determination and effort.
