IN THE Widnes & District Darts League Monday Night saw the Cheshire Roof Trusses 501 League, Round 13 played.
The Cricketers Arms at home to Widnes RUFC, took the first two games through Dave Gerrard and Paul Mason.
The Wids levelled, taking two in a row through Paul Woods and opening pair, Ste Harris and Paul Woods. That was as good as it got for the Wids as the Cricketers Arms started the rout, taking the remaining five games and the match through, Simon Hanna and Carl Bryan, Dave Gerrard and Ray Hatton, Carl Bryan (180), Dave Leather and Ray Hatton (20 darts).
The Corpy Club, at home to Widnes Bowling Club, conceded the first game to the Bowler’s Mark Smith. Ian Argent the levelled with a 17-darter, only to see the Bowler take the next three games through, Harry Ellis, Harry Ellis and Tommy Robertson and Tex Bowles and Ben Lyons. The Corpy took the next game through, Dave Pickles and Ian Argent, then the Bowler stormed on, taking the last three games through, Tex Bowles, Ben Lyons and Tommy Robertson.
The Eight Towers, at home to the Sundowner St Maries, scored first through Joe Bamber (120 finish) and Gareth Bason. The Sundowner St Maries then levelled through Barry Highfield and opening pair, John Yates and Barry Highfield.
A further win apiece from the Tower’s Chris Walsh and Joey Bamber and Dave Powell and the Sundowner’s Anthony Hall and Rob Woods and Anthony Hall kept the score line at four all. Chris Walsh decided the outcome as he took the final game and the match for the Eight Towers.
Halton Stadium, at home to the RAOB, took the first game through John Bramald with a 17-dart display. Ray Dutton levelled for the Buffs, but that was as good as it got for them as the Stadium took all the remaining seven games and the match through, Alan Clark, Phil Corless and Kenny Murphy, Terry Roach and Joe Price, John Bowles and John Bramald, John Bowles (17 darts), Joe Batty and Alan Magee.
The Main Top, at home to the Mill Brow SC, took the first two games through, Roy Caldwell and Martin Yates. Chris Bright then recovered a point for the Brow, only to see the Main Top’s opening pair, Kyle Yeomans and Roy Caldwell take it back. Then came two in a row from the Brow’s Paul Linger and Robbie Gorst and Charles and Mark Harrison, to level the score. Paul Linger then took them ahead, albeit short-lived as the Main Top then levelled through Kyle Yeomans. Robbie Gorst decided the outcome as his win gave the Mill Brow the final game and the match.
On Friday night the Mill Brow SC RTB League continued.
In Division One the Birchfield, at home to Halton Stadium, conceded the first game to Halton Stadium’s Terry Roach who hit a 10 dart display. Terry Abbott then levelled for the Birchfield. A further two wins from the Stadium’s Alan Magee and opening pair Ged Price and Alan Clark kept the Stadium in the lead. John Leather and Dave Herley recovered a point for the Birchfield, but the Stadium added a further win through Terry Roach and Alan Magee. The Birchfield were still in with a chance as two in a row from Trevor Chadwick and Dave Herley kept them in with a chance. However the Stadium determined the outcome as Barry Stanners took the last game and the match for them.
The Corpy Club at home to the Millfield Arms, got off to a fantastic start as they took the first five games through, Gordon White, Ian Argent and Mark O’Connor, followed by pairs, John Fisher and Jimmy Schofield and Dave Pickles & Ian Argent. The Millfield’s Chris Taylor and Danny Mellor took the next game to stop it being a whitewash, as the Corpy Club then completed the rout, taking the remaining three games and the match through Dave Pickles, Brian Mercer and Tez Gallagher.
