IN the Widnes and District Darts League Monday night saw the Cheshire Roof Trusses 501 Pairs, with the best of three legs played.

At Widnes Bowling Club, Chris Hall and D Powell went through to the next round by wining two games to one. In round two they did the same again, including a 19 dart display. Also through in the same round were Alan Magee and Joe Batty with an 18 dart display. In round three, Hall and Powell completed the hat-trick as they won again, in two straight legs.

At Widnes RUFC, Ian Bason and M Prichard took round one, but lost out to Paul Linger and Robbie Gorst in round two. In round three Linger and Gorst took the round and the match in two straight legs.

At Corpy Club, Darren Grant and Phil Corless and Barry Stanners and Alan Clark took round one in two straight legs, Stanners and Clark repeating this to go through to the next round.

At Mill Brow SC, C Walsh and J Bamber took round one in two straight legs, whilst Karl Whitfield and Anthony Hall went through in two games to one and Whitfield and Hall took the match in two straight legs.

At RAOB, Alan Sutton and Chris Taylor took round one in two games to nil, as did Joe Price and Ged Price, who went on to take round two.

At Eight Towers, Rob Woods and Karl Windisch and Ged McPartland and Danny McPartland all went through round one in two straight legs, but it was Windisch and Woods who took the match in two straight legs.

At Main Top, Ian Argent and Dave Pickles took round one 2-0. They then took round two, unopposed as their opponents failed to show.

At Majors Arms, R Caldwell and K Yeomans and Damian Eustace and Alan Moran all went through round one in two straight legs, with Caldwell and Yeomans taking the match.

On Friday Night the Widnes Weekly News Individuals competition was played and Paul Woodward went through at Mill Brow SC, Alan Sutton went through at Halton Stadium, and Paul Millarkey went through at RAOB.

At Corpy Club, Glyn Owen went through all three rounds as his opponents failed to show, at Millfield, Ste Caldwell won, Jimmy Rawlinson won at the Ball, and at Crows Nest, Paul Woods beat Trevor Chadwick to get to round three.

At Widnes CC, Alan Moran took the match on byes and at Simms Cross Institute, Anthony Hall beat R Doyle to progress.

At the Birchfield Dave Herley made it to round three and at Sundowner St Maries, Dave Dutton emerged the winner against Dave Pickles.

At Widnes RUFC, Chris Corwell beat M Yates, including a 16 dart display, while at Widnes Bowling Club, Karl Yeomans beat Jeff Thompson and at Eight Towers, Mark O’Connor took the match through byes.

At Majors Arms, Jason Haddock won his battle against Andy Ruane to make it to round three and at Mill brow SC, Alan Magee beat D Brick to progress.

At Halton Stadium, K Allen took the match in two straight legs, even though his opponent M Pritchard had a 14 dart display in his second leg.

At RAOB, Tex Bowles and Mike Howard went straight through to round two, with Mike Howard winning two games to one and at Corpy Club, D Powell took his round two match against D Jones in straight legs, while at Millfield, J Bennett emerged the victor.

At Ball, Ian Argent took round one in two straight legs and then did the same in round two.

At Widnes Cricket Club, Paul Linger took round one before beating C Jones in round two.

At Simms Cross Institute, C Hall (14 darts) and T Roach won round one, with C Hall taking round two.

At Birchfield, Nicky Duff and D Horsfall both went through round one, and it was D Horsfall who took round two 2-1,including a 12 dart display.

At Sundowner St Maries, Joe Price lost to Alan Clark in round two, at Widnes RUFC, S Lowe took his second round match against Ray Dutton and at Widnes Bowling Club, Paul Keating went through to the next set of rounds.

At Eight Towers Danny McPartland and Keith Glover both progressed in round one, with Glover emerging the winner in round two.

At Cricketers Arms, Bing Gray and Peter Jerram both won in two straight legs in round one, with Peter Jerram taking the round two match in two straight legs.

At Majors Arms, in round one Chris Bright won 2-1, including a 19 dart display. His opponent D Attwood hit a 17 darter in his leg. Robin Farrington also won, but in round two, Chris Bright took the match in two straight legs.
