AGE UK has appealed for Runcorn and Widnes residents to think again before throwing away unwanted presents.
Widnes and Runcorn managers Chris Kane and Bernie Sussex said misjudged items of clothing, ornaments or toiletries could turn out to be treasures for shoppers.
They have called on residents to donate goods to Age UK at Albert Square in Widnes or on Church Street in Runcorn instead.
Cash raised will help to fund lunch clubs, home safety checks, a free advice line open 365 days a year and campaign work.
Chris said: “By donating unwanted gifts to our shop residents will be helping a great cause. The money raised through Age UK’s shops supports the charity’s vital work for older people, so we are urging everyone in the area to de-clutter their homes and make a real difference to an older person.”
