MERSEYSIDE goes to the polls on Thursday in the 2012 local government elections - and we will be bringing you live news as it happens in our through-the-night live blog, starting at 10pm on election day.

Our reporters will be providing live updates from Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, Halton, West Lancashire, St Helens and the historic Liverpool Mayor election on Thursday night into Friday morning.

Then on Friday, we will be updating Warrington and Liverpool Council election counts.
