A DECADE after writing a series of short rhyming stories, a woman from Widnes has finally had her book published.
Lynne Doyle, 48, has worked in the Kingsway Children’s Centre for seven years and, in 2002, put together a small collection of poems entitled Kitten Capers, which were inspired by her pet cat Cliff.
After 10 years, Lynne began to regret that her work was just sitting there not being read, and after a series of strange dreams she decided to bite the bullet and have the poems published.
Lynne said: “I began having these dreams where I was pushing a pram, and inside the pram was a cat with a bonnet on. The book is like my baby, and I felt I was being told that I needed to do something with it.”
Kitten Capers is available from Xlibris Publishing, Barnes And Noble or Amazon.
The book is also on loan at Widnes library, and All Saints Upton CofE Primary School have purchased a number of hardback copies. Illustrations are by Widnes mum Jane Paterson.
Lynne added: “She has a brilliant style, I love it!”
