Big send off at Runcorn Station for volunteer on way to Uganda
AN INTREPID Runcorn teenager has embarked on a three-month adventure in Uganda.
Brett Gilligan (pictured), a volunteer with Young Addaction and the National Citizen Service, landed a place on the scheme after he impressed youth agency Restless Development.
Brett, of Windmill Hill, a former member of the Canal Boat Adventure Club (CBAP), was joined by friends and relatives who turned out in force to give him a send-off from Runcorn Station.
Norma Hornby, of CBAP, said: “On his return, Brett Gilligan will become a developer for CBAP’s NCS project for 2012 – a role he will share with Kai Shrimpton.”
