Anti-asbestos site campaigners thank fun night firms in Widnes

ACTIVISTS held an evening of fun to raise cash for a protest campaign.

Widnes North Residents Association said the music and raffle night raised £800.

The group said the cash will help its campaign against the development of an asbestos-contaminated site on Derby Road, Widnes.

WNRA chair Peter Brewin said: “The committee and members sincerely thank all the businesses who supported our recent event at the welcoming Farnworth and Sports Social Club by sponsoring all the prizes.”
