Teenage girl arrested after threatening to jump from Silver Jubilee Bridge

A TEENAGE girl who threatened to jump from the Silver Jubilee Bridge was arrested after being talked down by police.

The 17-year-old climbed onto the structure at on Wednesday evening and threatened to throw herself off.

Fire engines, police vehicles and an inflatable search boat were sent and a traffic lane was closed as a trained negotiator attempted to talk her down.

At 8.45pm the girl agreed to come down from the bridge and was immediately arrested for causing a public nuisance.
