EVERTON and England Ladies goalkeeper Rachel Brown joined school pupils in Runcorn to help launch their new anti- smoking message.
The Smokefree Sport scheme aims to limit the damage done by second hand smoke to the health of young children.
And to mark the launch of the initiative, Astmoor PrimarySchool in Castlefields, unveiled its new football kit which carries information on quitting smoking.
Louisa Aldridge, headteacher, said: “What better way of giving young people an opportunity to get the message across that kicking the smoking habit not only can improve your own health but also the health of people around you, particularly young children.”
The children’s kit was provided by Castlefields and Windmill Hill Neighbourhood Partnership.
