A PENSIONER suffered a heart attack after she tried to apprehend a thief who stole the cash box from Halton Hospital charity shop.
The offender grabbed the box at approximately 2.30pm, on Thursday, June 25, then sprinted past a crowded bus stop onto the busway. A 76-year-old volunteer tried to chase him but had a heart attack shortly after. She is now in a stable condition in hospital.
The offender was white, of slim build, in his late teens or early 20s and wore black clothes and a cap.
