Cheshire Police seize cannabis following raids in Greek Street and The Hove, Murdishaw

POLICE have seized two major stashes of cannabis plants following a series of raids.

Officers acting on a tip-off swooped on an address in Greek Street, Runcorn, where they discovered 70 plants in an upstairs bedroom.

The plants were taken away for forensic examination and police said they are still trying to trace the occupier.

Officers also raided a house in The Hove, Murdishaw, and seized 20 plants, along with suspected Class A drugs and cash.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of production of cannabis and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

He was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Andy Delooze, of Runcorn Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “We executed the warrant as a result of information which was passed onto us.

“This sort of information is vital and we will continue to work closely with the local community to tackle the issue of drug use and supply.”
