Halton Council leader’s NHS post

CLLR TONY McDermott has been reappointed as non-executive director of the mental health trust that serves Halton.

First appointed to 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Trust in 2005, he will again fulfil the role from April 1, 2009-March 31, 2010.

The trust provides mental health care for residents from Halton, St Helens, Warrington, Knowsley, and Wigan and Leigh boroughs.

Cllr McDermott, also leader of Halton Borough Council, will receive £6,005 a year in expenses for working as non-executive director.

The trust said no appointment is political.

There are six non-executive directors in total.
