Voluntary aid at stadium’s network date

MORE than 60 voluntary organisations were represented when Stobart Stadium Halton played host to a major networking event attended by up to 200 people.

The event was a chance for groups and volunteers to find out about funding and support, and a wealth of other advice was offered including tips on how groups can link up.

Workshops were held in the River Suite and there was also an introduction to Awards 4 All.

Cllr Steff Nelson (voluntary sector) said: “The voluntary sector plays a crucial role in delivering public services and in building strong, cohesive communities.

“The event was aimed at voluntary and community sector organisations and statutory agencies who are keen to work together in partnership, network and provide a service to the community.”

Lynda Holland, the council’s voluntary sector co-ordinator, said: “I would like to give a big thank you to all stall holders and visitors who made the event so vibrant and successful.”
