GLOBE-TROTTING pupils from Runcorn have been touring schools in South Africa as part of a special twinning programme.
The trip saw seven Year 10 and 11 pupils from The Heath School visiting Durbanville, Cape Town, as part of an exchange visit.
They stayed with local families and visited The Heath’s partner schools at Durbanville High School, Durbanville Primary School and Alpha School.
Students also visited popular tourist attractions and came face-to-face with wild animals on safari.
Kirsty Lowe, spokeswoman at The Heath, said: “Our first exchange trip to Durbanville was a massive success.
“Pupils also saw many of the sights of Cape Town, getting up at 5am to climb Table Mountain.
“We had a weekend staying at guest houses on the beach, whale watching, and also visited a crocodile farm, local museums and other places of interest.”
The Durbanville pupils will be visiting The Heath on their return trip in June 2009.
