LANDOWNERS in Halton are begin urged to make sure their land is registered to protect against adverse possession claims.
The Land Registry says 1,942 hectares of land are unregistered in Halton, which is 21.5% of the total 9,033 hectares.
Vyrner Speakman, North West register development manager, said: “There are a variety or reasons why land has not been registered, not least farms, for instance, which can be passed down the generations.
“Registration in Cheshire is going well, but could be better, so I would urge local landowners to get in touch with us.”
