Appeal for witnesses after man is attacked

POLICE have launched a witness appeal after a gang pinned down a man and rifled through his pockets.

The 20-year-old victim was robbed as he walked home from a night out in Widnes town centre at 2.30am on Saturday, October 4.

He was at the junction of Milton Road and Kingsway when he was approached by three or four men from behind who tripped him up.

They held him down and went through his pockets before running off towards Kingsway Leisure Centre.

Police say some personal items were stolen and the victim was left shaken and with minor face and leg injuries.
