Fire chiefs thank public for charity effort

FIRE chiefs in Runcorn are thanking residents for supporting their charity car wash at the station last month.

The event raised over £750 for the Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support to serving and retired firefighters.

A programme of successful car washes were held throughout Cheshire, raising £6,150 for the cause.

Mark Cashin, chair of FFCC, said: “Every year, thousands of firefighters are injured while protecting the public.

“The charity assists over 13,500 individuals every year by providing pioneering treatment and support services.

“I am extremely grateful to the residents who went along and supported the car wash in Runcorn and to our own staff and cadets for holding this very successful fundraising event.”
