WIDNES Vikings have today signed Featherstone’s Loz Wildbore on a two-year contract.
The 24-year-old Hull born full-back picked up seven trophies at the Rovers’ end-of-season awards ceremony including those for first-team player of the year and players’ player.
A product of West Hull, Wildbore moved to Hull FC Academy before having spells at Hull KR, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, Doncaster and Featherstone.
Vikings’ head coach Steve McCormack said: “Loz had an outstanding season in 2008 and is an exciting talent.
“I hope he furthers his career at Widnes and fulfils his ambition to play Super League with us.
“I saw a lot of Loz on DVD last season and he never failed to impress me.
“The fact we beat off competition from a Super League club to clinch his signature speaks volumes for the current set up at Widnes.”
Wildbore said: “Widnes has recruited well and is a club that is really going places and I’m excited about being part of the future at the Stobart Stadium, Halton.”
