THE trust which runs Whiston Hospital has won praise for its financial performance.
St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals Trust received its third annual appraisal by the Audit Commission recently.
And in its report, the commission said the trust was “performing strongly” and “well above minimum requirements”.
The trust is one of only 14 NHS bodies out of 302 across the country to earn top marks.
It was judged on five different aspects of finance, including financial reporting, financial management, financial standing, internal control and value for money.
