Commitment to keeping jobs

A SPOKESMAN for Halton Borough Council said: “We are committed to keeping local jobs in Halton and are in detailed negotiations with a number of businesses along the route for the Mersey Gateway Project to buy the land needed to allow the bridge to go ahead.

“These negotiations are aimed at allowing local businesses to plan ahead and relocate elsewhere within Halton and are progressing well.

“As part of this, we can confirm that negotiations are at an advanced stage with Ventcroft through our respective professional advisers and as such, we are hopeful that a mutually beneficial conclusion for an agreement will be reached in the near future.”
