A LIVERPOOL University history lecturer has released a sequel to his book about the global influence of Freemasonry in Runcorn.
Dr David Harrison’s new book The Transformation of Freemasonry looks at how masonry evolved in England and Wales, during the 18th and 19th centuries.
The book follows on from his first book The Genesis of Freemasonry, which sold more than 10,000 copies in the UK and in America.
In his books, Dr Harrison cites a pub in Runcorn as one of the country’s oldest Freemason centres.
The Masonic pub was one of the earliest meeting places used by the organisation in the 1860s.
