Classic car show at Fiddlers Ferry, Widnes

SOME of the world’s most recognisable classic vehicles will be on display this Sunday, July 12.

The Fiddler’s Ferry Classic Vehicle Show will be returning for its sixth event in what organisers hope will be an even bigger hit than last year’s extravaganza.

Cars from across the globe such as Cadillacs and traditional London cabs will be on display at the Fiddler’s Ferry Tavern and Yacht Haven.

And there will also be music and food to make the occasion extra special.

Organiser David Espley, said: “Last year’s event was our best ever because of the weather and people turned up in their droves, but this year we’re hoping it will be even better.

“We’ve got 110 vehicles lined up for the event, with classic American cars such as Cadillacs and Corvettes due to appear.

“There’s also some great British cars such as the Mini, and a London Beardmore taxi - which is one of the very old ones where they used to have to strap your luggage to the outside!

“There will be an E-Type Jaguar, Daimlers, Bentleys, classic Fords and Zodiacs.

“There will also be classic motorcycles and pre-war cars, as well as a Land Rover display, with the Land Rovers up on ramps for people to get a better view.”

The event runs from noon-4pm and entry is free.
