On-line help for the deaf and hard of hearing in Halton

A WEBSITE has been launched for deaf and hard of hearing Halton residents.

The Deafness Support Network (DSN) site has British Sign Language (BSN) support for all pages, so that text on the pages is interpreted in a video window.

The site has details of deaf services, interpreter booking, a chat page and a forum.

There is also Deaf Club, national and international deaf news, and links to other deaf and hard of hearing websites.

News items contain stories such as the development of a small, portable device that interprets BSL into spoken English, an update on stem cell research into curing deafness, and latest deafness software.
