PCSO Stephen Marnick warns speed demons after Hale Village demands action

SPEEDING drivers have been warned of a police crackdown after villagers demanded action.

PCSO Stephen Marnick said Hale Village residents saw speeding and other traffic issues as their number one crime concern, followed by anti-social behaviour and dog fouling.

Villagers, police and Cllr Mike Wharton agreed on the priorities at the last Community Action Meeting (CAM) at Hale Primary School, on Monday, June 29.

More than 20 residents attended the meeting.

Police will now attend monthly meetings at the village hall.

PCSO Marnick said: “I would like to thank all those residents and partner agencies that have attended over the years and I look forward to continuing to serve this community.

“Also, with agreement of Hale Parish Council the police will now have an attendance at monthly meetings in the village hall to provide a more regular chance to continue engagements with residents and partner agencies.”

He added: “Motorists are advised in advance of the enforcement campaign that will take place in July to combat those that choose to ignore the speed limit of 30mph through Hale Village.”
