Alphega late night pharmacy at Beaconsfield Health Centre, Widnes, opens its doors

HEALTH professionals are promising a new era of patient care after the first late night pharmacy opened its doors in Widnes.

Staff cut the ribbon on the new outlet - which is based at Beaconsfield Primary Care Centre, off Peelhouse Lane - in a ceremony attended by GPs and health care staff last week.

The pharmacy will now be open from 8am-11pm weekdays, and 10am-8pm on Sundays.

In addition to services like blood pressure testing, smoking cessation and weight management, the pharmacy features a high tech “dispensing robot”.

The pharmacy is owned by husband and wife team Suk and Jackie Patel.
