HALTON residents are being targeted with safety campaign urging them to shut internal doors in case of a fire. Shut That Door!!! adverts have been posted on both sides of the river advising residents that such action can slow the spread of a blaze and make the difference between life and death. Sean Henshaw, unitary performance manager for Halton, said: “We have been working hard to warn residents about the dangers leaving cooking unattended even for a second. In Halton we have found that the number of incidents has reduced. But last year we were called to 21 cooking-related incidents in Halton alone which clearly show that there is much more that needs to be done.”
