THE timeless and tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet is set to be brought to life in a ballet performance at the Brindley.
And budding dancers will also have the chance to pick up some expert tips at a special masterclass with the performers.
Independent Ballet Wales present Shakespeare’s famous work at the arts centre next month.
Organisers said the show will be brought to life using the “finest classical dance”, featuring a “luxurious” score by Hector Berlioz.
A spokesman said: “Romeo and Juliet is Independent Ballet Wales at its most haunting and evocative.
“Intense fighting, passionate duets and universal themes echo through dramatic and lyrical choreography.
“Classically exquisite costumes and extraordinary settings create a world of danger and excitement where two young lovers are caught in an age-old feud.”
He added: “Independent Ballet Wales are a young, vital group of dancers who are pushing back the barriers of classical ballet.
“Using powerful and timeless stories the company challenges its dancers to interpret some of the finest characters in literature.”
The Brindley will also be hosting a free dance workshop for anyone who books tickets to see the show.
Those attending will have the chance to meet the choreographer and work with the performers while picking up some expert tips.
The workshop takes place from 5-6pm on December 4.
The show itself starts at 7.30pm on Thursday, December 4 and 1pm on Friday, December 5.
Tickets are £12 and £10 concessions with £35 for family tickets.
