All aboard as anything goes in evening of fun

MADCAP antics aboard an ocean liner sailing from New York to London feature in a production by the Rainhill Musical Theatre Company.

The group is staging its own version of Anything Goes, the classic musical comedy by Cole Porter.

The original version made its debut on Broadway in 1934 and is set aboard the good ship SS American in the 1930s.

The ship has a passenger list which includes rich debutantes, gentry, night club singers and criminals in disguise.

And the main thread revolves around the character of Billy Crocker – a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who herself is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.

The show includes twists and turns and tales of mistaken identity, humour and romance.

It takes place at Rainhill Village Hall from November 13-15 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6 with concessions at £5. For block bookings the group is offering 12 tickets for every 10 bought.
