A CHARITY band night in Runcorn will see one of the towns’s best up-and-coming acts take to the stage to raise cash for Halton Haven Hospice.
The Winchesters are pencilled in for the “Yer Slummy” charity night at The Canal Walk, Halton Road, on October 9.
Organisers hope it will be a regular event on the first Tuesday of every month.
Instead of the normal £3 admission free which is usually charged for the Canal Walk’s Tuesday acoustic events, people will be asked for a donation at the door – with all cash going to charity.
Five artists or bands will play 20 minute sets and members of the audience can express their appreciation by throwing whatever coppers are in their pockets into a bucket.
The winner will be the artist who raises the most money for Halton Haven
As well as The Winchesters, Liverpool’s Karl Eleven and Frodsham’s Sleepy John Hancell are set to perform.
