Block party

ONE of the world’s most influential boybands is back in business and heading to British shores once again.

American supergroup New Kids On The Block have release their first album in 15 years and are set to follow it up with a massive nationwide tour.

Their latest album – entitled The Block – was released this month and tour dates are set to include the Manchester MEN arena on Friday, January 16.

The tour sees the band reunited for the first time after a decade which has seen them pursue their own solo careers.

Donnie Wahlberg in particular has earned praise for his diverse acting career, especially his role as Lieutenant Carwood Lipton in the hit HBO show Band of Brothers.

A spokesman for the tour, said: “In the late 80s and early 90s, brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood created a cultural phenomenon.

“Their repertoire included the international number one albums, 1988’s Hangin Tough and 1990’s Step By Step, as well as a series of R&B-pop hit singles.

Tickets go on general sale this Friday from 9.30am and can be booked at www.gigsandtours. com. For more information on the band visit www.newkidsareback.com.
